This combination course provides competency in asthma and anaphylaxis related first aid interventions in the workplace. The content covers the presentation of both conditions, their emergency first aid management and risk management.
The unit of competence 22578VIC Course in first aid management of anaphylaxis is necessary in addition to either HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting when working in a school according to the Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET). For those working in early childhood education, day care, after school programs, etc. we recommend attending HLTAID012 instead as this meets the requirements of the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
Prerequisite: There are no prerequisites for this course.
Minimum age: Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance.
Requirements: Students are required to bring a form of photo ID on the day of their practical course.
