First Aid Training Group’s Anaphylaxis (EpiPen) training course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to enable them to assist a person suffering from an anaphylactic reaction until medical assistance arrives.

Learning Objectives

It is becoming increasingly more important for both business and the general public to become Anaphylaxis prepared. Anaphylaxis is the most severe form of an allergic reaction and is potentially life threatening. It must be treated as a medical emergency, requiring immediate treatment and urgent medical attention. This course assists you to obtain the necessary first aid skills to assess, manage and assist a person suffering an anaphylactic reaction until medical assistance arrives including;

  • Define the term allergic reaction/anaphylaxis
  • Recognition of an allergic reaction and anaphylaxis
  • Signs and symptoms of allergic reaction
  • Risk factors
  • Provide first aid management of severe allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
  • Develop Risk Minimisation and Management Strategies for allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
  • Assessment of Action Plans
  • Use of adrenaline auto-injector devices (EpiPen)
  • Communicate accurate details of the incident to Emergency Services

Course Details

The face-to-face training is 2 hours and covers both the theory and practical aspects of Anaphylaxis and use of the EpiPen. Students are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the course commencement or may be refused entry.

The Anaphylaxis EpiPen course can be customised to meet your industry requirements.

First Aid Training Group also utilises an Advanced Student Management System to notify clients and students when certificates are due to expire, ensuring staff / Students are always compliant and competent.

Certificate Validity

The Anaphylaxis Management course certificate is valid for three (3) years from the completion date. An annual refresher is recommended for those in the Education / Child Care industry.

Enrolment Information

Once enrolled, First Aid Training Group will email participants an Anaphylaxis Management booking confirmation with venue details and maps, course requirements and terms of enrolment.
